Unpretentious Palate: What’s coming to Camp North End
Camp North End has seen rapid growth since it first opened to the public as a mixed use space back in 2017. Much of that growth has been in the food and beverage sector, as food and beverage concepts have spread across the property and festivals such as BayHaven Food & Wine have debuted on the property. Aside from being home to James Beard Award finalist Greg Collier and Leah & Louise, you’ll also find bakery Wentworth & Fenn, cheese and charcuterie shop Babe & Butcher, Hex Coffee, Free Range Brewing, food stalls including UPPY Award winner PlantJoy, and more.
This time next year, that list will be much longer. Here’s a summary of what’s happening at Camp North End, and when.

Seemingly Overzealous, a dairy-free ice cream brand, will open its first brick-and-mortar location at Camp North End.
Garrett Tichy and Jessica Berresse, the couple behind this venture, met in 2020 and connected over a shared love of ice cream. Their first date included taste-testing an ice cream flight with flavors from different shops across Charlotte, as well as one Garrett created at home as part of a pandemic-era hobby. As their relationship grew, so did the business.

Dupp & Swat is Charlotte’s gift that keeps on giving
Pronounced “Dope,” Dupp & Swat’s creative studios have been in Charlotte for over 10 years now. I sat down with the founders, Davita and Dion Galloway, to get to know their journey.
Davita, an artist by nature, once studied fashion design in New York. Though after running into issues there, she soon realized that scene wasn’t for her, and arrived back home. Despite the minor setback Dion wanted to support and propel Davita’s artistic talents, which he’d seen his entire life.

Flashback to last week, when we reported that NoDa Company Canteen is getting its own brick-and-mortar, and back in February, HEX coffee announced it's expanding, Axios' Laura Barrero writes.
"We're constantly restocking our children's merchandise at Grow," founder Jules Zanoni said in a press release.
Details: Fun will sell toys catered toward kids ages 2 to 12, including blocks, scooters, bikes and clothes.

Sometimes bad is good: Get to know the face behind Camp North End’s Beyond Amazing Donuts
Yes, sometimes bad can be good, and in this case it’s amazing. Thomasville, North Carolina, native Jasmine Macon is the face of Camp North End’s soon-to-be B.A.D. — an acronym for the upcoming Beyond Amazing Donuts.
The concept is a dream realized for the Johnson & Wales Charlotte graduate, who sees the business as a community effort for all those who have supported her Saturday doughnut pop-ups over the last year at Hex Coffee.
“It’s taken everyone for me to get here, so I want you all to know and feel like you’re a part of this, too,” Macon told CharlotteFive.

Mount Sinai to Open 17K-SF Cardiology Office in NoMad
Mount Sinai Health System’s plans for a new cardiology office in NoMad are anything but half-hearted.
The hospital network will open a 17,464-square-foot medical center at 373 Park Avenue South in early fall, Commercial Observer has learned.
Mount Sinai’s 10-year deal puts the new outpost on the top two floors of the 12-story building between East 26th and East 27th streets, according to a representative for the landlord, ATCO Properties & Management. Asking rent was $59 per square foot.
“We’re thrilled to be able to accommodate Mount Sinai’s needs for its new cardiology center and provide the neighborhood with another important health and wellness amenity,” ATCO’s Kate Goodman, who represented the landlord in-house, said in a statement.
