Camp North End's ownership group is expanding.
Commercial real estate firm Jamestown, which is headquartered in Atlanta, is stepping in as lead owner and developer of the 76-acre, adaptive-reuse development, according to a news release. As the lead investor, Jamestown said it is taking over asset management, leasing, creative and marketing, architecture and design, and development at the property.
Jamestown is considering the move a joint-venture investment, as original developer Atco Properties & Management and strategic partner Shorenstein Properties will continue to have involvement at the property, per the release.
Damon Hemmerdinger, co-president of Atco, will serve in an advisory role as nonexecutive chairman of the joint venture. Camp North End's 301-unit multifamily community Kinship, located at 110 and 115 Razades Way, will remain under Atco ownership and management.
Hemmerdinger said in the news release that, over the last nine years, the Camp North End team has dedicated itself to transforming the formerly abandoned industrial site into something vibrant and authentic for the Charlotte community. It is currently home to 95 businesses and organizations and had more than 1 million visitors in 2025.
“Alongside our partners at Shorenstein, we are thrilled to welcome Jamestown, which brings the rare combination of resources, expertise, experience and creativity needed to advance Camp’s vision and position it for lasting success," he said.
